    What this calculator estimates

This is the fixed-fee estimator for Jacobs Counsel's most common engagements: business formation, contract review, trademarks, NIL and brand deals, gaming legal opinions, estate plans, and ongoing outside counsel subscriptions. Pick the service that's closest to your matter and you'll see what the engagement includes, the scoping range we typically work in, and a direct booking link to the right calendar.

It's built for founders, athletes, creators, gaming operators, hospitality owners, and the financial advisors and agents who refer them. Everything you see is fixed-fee work — no hourly billing surprises.

    Fixed Fees, Always

No hourly billing. No surprise invoices. You know the price before we start.

    Senior-Level Counsel

Direct access to the attorney handling your matter — no hand-offs.

    Custom Scoping Available

Complex matters get a tailored scope and fee — just book a call.

All engagements are scoped and quoted during your strategy call. Your fee is confirmed in a formal engagement letter before any work begins.

    How these estimates are calculated

Each tile reflects the real fixed fee we've charged on comparable engagements, normalized to the scope shown under What's Included. We track every fixed-fee matter, so the ranges reflect what we actually charge — not aspirational pricing.

Your actual fee may differ when: (1) the matter spans multiple jurisdictions, (2) the counterparty is sophisticated and the negotiation extends well beyond a single redline round, (3) regulatory complexity is unusually high (e.g., a 50-state gaming opinion with novel facts), or (4) you need expedited turnaround. In those cases we scope and quote a custom fixed fee on the strategy call before any engagement letter is signed.

We never bill by the hour for the matters on this page. If the scope changes during the engagement, we paper a written change order — no surprise invoices.

    Fee Estimate — FAQ

    How accurate is the estimate?

The categories on this page reflect real fixed-fee engagements we run regularly. For straightforward matters in those categories, the scoped fee you see in your engagement letter typically matches the estimate. Complex matters — unusual jurisdictions, contested deals, multi-party transactions — get a custom scope after a short call.

Does the estimate cover all services?

Not every matter fits a fixed fee. Litigation, regulatory disputes, and highly contested transactions are scoped individually. The calculator covers our core fixed-fee work — formations, contract review, NIL and brand deals, trademarks, gaming opinions, estate plans, and ongoing outside counsel.

Will my actual fee match the estimate?

Your final fee is confirmed in a written engagement letter before any work starts. We won't begin until you sign off on the scope and fee in writing. If the matter turns out to be materially different from the original scope, we discuss it openly and re-paper the engagement rather than send a surprise invoice.

What if my matter is more complex than the calculator assumes?

Book a strategy call. We'll scope the engagement together, identify the additional work involved, and quote a fixed fee that reflects the real scope. The calculator is a starting point, not a contract.

Can I book a call to discuss the estimate?

Yes. Each service tile links directly to the right calendar — startup formation, contract review, gaming, estate planning, entertainment/NIL, or outside counsel. Pick the one closest to your matter and we'll talk through scope and fee on the call.
